New Boiler Installation with EcoBuild Contractors

If your boiler keeps breaking down, struggles to heat the house or is simply getting old, a new condensing model can make a real difference to comfort and gas use. EcoBuild Contractors provides boiler installation for homes and commercial premises, and all gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. We fit combi, system and conventional boilers and can move or convert your setup where it makes sense.

Older non-condensing and back boilers send a large share of their heat straight out of the flue. A modern condensing boiler recovers much of that heat from the exhaust gases before they leave, which is why Building Regulations require condensing boilers for almost every gas installation today. Pairing it with good controls lets it run at lower temperatures, where it condenses most of the time.

Most new boilers are paid for privately. ECO4, the energy supplier scheme behind most free boiler offers, has a final end date of 31 December 2026 with no successor, and the council-run Warm Homes: Local Grant does not cover gas boilers. If you think you may qualify for help, we check honestly what, if anything, is available before you commit.

What we do

Boiler work we carry out

Combi boiler installation

Heating and hot water on demand from one compact unit, a good fit for flats and homes with one bathroom and decent mains pressure.

System boiler installation

For homes with more bathrooms, a system boiler heats a sealed cylinder so several taps and showers can run at once.

Conventional boiler replacement

Replacing a heat-only boiler that works with a cold water tank in the loft, keeping the existing layout where it still suits the house.

Energy-efficient boiler upgrades

Swapping a non-condensing or back boiler for a condensing model, with the condensate pipe routed and protected against freezing.

Boiler relocation

Moving the boiler to a utility room, garage, loft or cupboard to free up kitchen space, with the flue and pipework rerouted to suit.

Hot water cylinder replacement

New vented or unvented cylinders for system and conventional boilers, including leaking or poorly insulated copper tanks.

Heating controls and smart thermostats

Programmable and smart thermostats plus thermostatic radiator valves, so you heat the rooms you use when you use them.

Central heating system upgrades

Cleaning the system, fitting a magnetic filter, replacing tired radiators and valves so the new boiler is protected from sludge.

Servicing and repair arrangements

Annual boiler services and repair visits by Gas Safe registered engineers, arranged to keep the appliance safe and the manufacturer warranty valid.

Why it is worth it

Benefits of new boiler installation

Lower gas use

A condensing boiler with modern controls wastes far less heat than an old unit, so less gas is burned for the same warmth.

Dependable hot water

No more waiting for an ageing boiler to fire up, or finding it locked out on a cold morning when everyone needs a shower.

Safer appliance

A room-sealed boiler and flue, with the gas supply and flue checked on installation, removes the risks of old open-flued back boilers.

More space

Converting to a combi or moving the boiler can free up an airing cupboard, clear the loft tanks or give you back a fireplace.

Combi, system or conventional: which boiler do you need?

A combi heats water as you run the tap, so there is no cylinder or loft tank. It suits most flats and smaller homes, but flow can drop if two showers run together, and it relies on good mains water pressure.

A system boiler with an unvented cylinder copes better with larger families and several bathrooms, while a conventional boiler is often kept in older homes with gravity-fed showers or where changing the pipework would be costly. We measure your mains pressure and flow rate at the survey, because that reading often decides the answer.

What do the rules require when you replace a boiler?

Replacing a gas boiler is notifiable work under Building Regulations, which is why it has to be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer who registers the installation for you. In England, a new gas boiler must meet a minimum seasonal efficiency and be fitted with time and temperature controls.

Combi boilers in England also need one extra energy-saving measure from an approved list, such as weather compensation, load compensation, flue gas heat recovery or a smart thermostat with automation and optimisation. We include the right option in your quote rather than adding it later.

Our process

How the job runs

  1. Free home visitWe check your current system, gas supply, flue position, mains water pressure and hot water needs before recommending a boiler type and output.
  2. Fixed quotationYou get a written quote listing the boiler, controls, flue, any pipework changes and the removal of your old equipment.
  3. Installation dayOur Gas Safe registered engineers remove the old boiler, fit the new one and its flue, clean the system and add a filter.
  4. Commissioning and registrationThe boiler is tested and commissioned, the installation is registered under Building Regulations, and you are shown how to use the controls.
FAQ

New Boiler Installation questions

When should a boiler be replaced rather than repaired?

Frequent breakdowns, rising repair bills, parts that are hard to find or a non-condensing model are all good signs it is time to replace. We will tell you if a repair still makes more sense.

Is there a free boiler grant?

There is no general free boiler grant. A small number of eligible low-income households may still get help through ECO4 up to its final end date of 31 December 2026, subject to a survey and supplier funding, and we check this for you when you enquire.

Will I be without heating and hot water during the work?

Only while the old boiler is removed and the new one is fitted. We agree a date with you, tell you when the gas and water will be off, and keep that time as short as possible.

Does a new boiler need servicing every year?

Yes. Manufacturers usually require a yearly service by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty valid, and it keeps the boiler running safely and efficiently.

Should I choose a heat pump instead of a new boiler?

It depends on your home, budget and plans. A heat pump suits well insulated homes and may be part funded through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, while a condensing boiler costs less upfront, so we can quote for both and let you compare.
